Laid back, down to earth atmosphere and an owner/mechanic/salesman that isn't just trying to push whatever his highest margin item is. Excellent personalized customer service and outstanding wrenching. Hands down my favorite bike shop.
Probably the most down to earth bike shop that I've ever been to. From the moment that you walk through the door you feel welcome. It's a warm inviting enviroment, not white and sterile like most of the generic shops that are all over the place. The staff, comprised of one person ( Dennis, the owner), is very knowledgeable and interested in selling what you need and not what they want to move. Hands down, the best bike shop around!!!

It's rare to find a shop that doesn't mind you hanging out and socializing like the shops back in the day. Third Coast is that diamond in the rough that you can go to and have your bike fixed, buy a new bike or just pull up a seat and talk about whatever and be treated the same, spending money or not. Third Coast, Dennis Quick, is the most knowledgeable and skillful bicycle repair expert in Houston. An ex-professional rider, he has the experience and the tools to perform tune-ups to manufacturing specialty parts. Dennis has great people skills and relates to kids, moms and dads, and serious racers (BMX, mountain and road bikes). I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Third Coast Bikes is a totally different place than any other bike shop I have been to. You will never feel like a walking dollar sign. He sells you what you need. I hate when sales people push for the up selling, but that is the difference because the owner is not a salesperson. He truly loves what he does. Dennis encourages his customers to visit and hang out. He easily becomes a friend and not just the local bike shop owner. There are always kids around and he genuinely wants them there. All the local kids have a place they can go that is cool and they feel welcome. Anyone who can make a retail business, in such a competitive environment, feel like going to visit a friend deserves to get the best bike shop title.
Dennis is the best guy ever.
I met him the day I started to bmx.
Since that day I've never met anyone with such heart and love put into what they do.
TCB also became somewhat of a home for me to keep me from the negativity of the streets.
